The recording starts (and closes) with an extract from the LP Liege and Lief by Fairport Convention with a voice over giving details: The programme is a 'Folk on Sunday Special' when the Folk on Sunday team went to Nelson, Lancashire, to present Folk in Concert & this programme is recorded highlights of that concert. The concert, held at Nelson and Colne? College of Further Education, featured the Taverners, from Blackpool, Harry Boardman, and the Pendle Folk and includes the first performance of the ball of North West, compiled by Alan Bell. Date of transmission unknown, except the month was either late April or May on a Sunday at 16:00; and likely to be early 1970s. The presenter was Jim Lloyd and the producer was Francis Line?.
